Serena Hotels - This chain of luxury hotels and resorts is spread across the plains of East Africa. Treetops Lodge - This is one of the most famous game viewing lodges in the world and the original treetop lodge. It overlooks a water hole and salt lick high in the Aberdare National Park. In February 1952, then, Princess Elizabeth of England became Queen on learning of the death of her father while staying at the hotel.
The lodge rises straight out of the ground on stilts. It has four decks and a rooftop viewing platform as well as balconies from most of the rooms. The animals are attracted to the area and often move through right under the lodge! At night, guests can arrange for a wake up call if a particular animal they want to see is spotted near the water hole.
Tented Camps - These are not your usual campsites! These often luxurious accommodations provide visitors the real experience of being on safari along with all the amenities of a fine quality hotel. Each private room has an en-suite bath, and secluded verandah. The property features riverfront dining areas with private catering, a freeform swimming pool, conference area, safety deposit boxes, board games and a reference library.
